Hourly to Salary Calculator

Estimate gross pay over a year from an hourly rate, working days per week and hours per day. The calculator also shows monthly, weekly and daily equivalents, and distinguishes paid holidays from unpaid leave in the annualization assumption. The figure is not a take-home salary estimate: taxes, overtime rates, benefits, deductions, unpaid breaks and employer-specific pay calendars are not included. Use the same schedule assumptions when comparing a job offer with a salary-based role.

How it is calculated

Enter the hourly gross rate and select Hourly as the pay period.

Set weekly workdays, daily hours, paid holidays and unpaid leave.

Review annualized gross pay and the separate estimated value per actual work hour.

Formula

Annual gross estimate: Hourly rate × (workdays/year − unpaid leave days) × hours/day

Monthly gross estimate: Annual gross estimate ÷ 12

Frequently asked questions

Does this include overtime?

No. It assumes the same entered hourly rate for all estimated paid hours and does not add overtime or shift premiums.

Why does the annual figure use 52 weeks?

The calculator uses a standard 52-week annualization for consistency. Employer payroll calendars and actual paid weeks can differ.
