Find body fat percentage for women, from BMI and age.
The Deurenberg equation, using the female-specific constant.
Women: 1.2 × BMI + 0.23 × age − 5.4
Why does the formula give a higher estimate for women at the same BMI?
On average, women naturally carry a higher body fat percentage than men at the same BMI, because of differences in body shape. The formula's smaller subtracted number for women reflects this.
